I do adore visiting the Bear YMCA! The staff is so well-informed. Kelly M (Fitness Instructor) consistently took the time to greet me every visit. It was incredibly inviting! I do miss her, haven't crossed paths with her in some time, looking forward to seeing her soon!
Joseph Martin (7/18/25, 3:51 PM):
I absolutely adore the TRX and Zumba classes provided at this establishment! The amenities are top-notch and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Moreover, the Y stands out as one of the few gyms that provides childcare services during your workout sessions. Recently, we participated in a delightful family exercise class that proved to be quite enjoyable as well!
Catherine Gonzalez (7/16/25, 7:44 AM):
We didn't have the chance to check out the indoor facilities, but let me tell you, the outdoor pools are absolutely brilliant! Both my 9-year-old and my 3-year-old had a blast.

I've been popping in and out of this gym for a good couple of years now. It was top-notch to begin with, but over the past year, it has gotten mighty busy, especially during certain times of the day where there ain't even space to catch your breath (I'm working full time and can't make it during the quieter hours). I'm also a bit miffed because when my debit card got replaced with one of those new-fangled chip ones, I tried ringing them up multiple times with no luck. Left 'em a voice message but didn't hear back. Rang again and got shuffled to the membership department, where I waited on hold for a good 6 minutes before throwing in the towel. Real shame that is, 'cause the folks at the gym are always a friendly lot when you see 'em in person. I get they might be swamped in the offices, but I ain't got all the time in the world to keep on dialing 'til someone picks up.
Susan Nguyen (7/13/25, 3:16 AM):
I am just an average lad who scrapes together money every single month to spend at this place. I always pay on time with no complaints. However, every day after school when I come here, they close the gym on me. I wouldn't mind if it was just one day a week or something, but I give them my hard-earned cash to use the basketball courts, and yet they continually shut them down. They don't keep their promises, and the whole staff at this Y is impolite and very careless with their work. I am more than willing to elaborate for anyone who asks, so if you want to make my life easier, please stop shutting down the sports gym right after school lets out. It truly makes no sense whatsoever. I have been unjustly scolded multiple times by a particular staff member, and the place is not well-maintained. All I can say is that they are swindlers for taking my money and not holding up their end of the bargain.
Emily Reyes (7/7/25, 8:19 PM):
I absolutely adore the YMCA, but crikey, it's becoming a bit pricey to keep up with my membership. Nearly a hundred bucks a month! I'll have to give it a miss, cheers.
Olivia Mitchell (7/7/25, 1:22 PM):
Absolutely love this gym! The atmosphere is so fun and safe, and the cleanliness of the facilities is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. 10/10 recommend!
Diane Peterson (7/6/25, 7:31 PM):
Somewhat disorganized despite its great potential. Relies on paper schedules while other gyms excel with technology and user-friendly apps, such as the YMCA.
I believe it's a waste of resources to maintain and promote the YMCA application.
For instance, the posted opening time is 10 am, but in reality, they open at 8 am. Similarly, a spin class listed as starting at 9:30 on paper actually commences at 10 am according to the YMCA Bear Delaware Application.
I arrived promptly for the class, only to find it already 30 minutes in due to an unannounced schedule change.
As a devoted member who contributes not only membership fees but also donations to support the YMCA, I expect more efficient scheduling and seamless app integration.
Danielle Cox (7/6/25, 9:18 AM):
I absolutely adore that gym, it's such a family-friendly environment and it exudes a sense of tranquility that I truly appreciate. It's become a favorite spot of mine!
Charles Thomas (7/6/25, 1:54 AM):
Melissa's hot yoga class is absolutely everything during the week! I can't thank you enough for hosting her.
Sean Reyes (7/2/25, 12:26 AM):
I hadn't even been a member for 30 days when I attempted to cancel my membership, but lo and behold, they are still debiting me for the upcoming month! The fees are exorbitant, the gear is grimy, the weight area is cramped, and the machines I aim to utilize are consistently occupied due to the limited space and high volume of members. On the whole, it was a rather unpleasant experience. Steer clear of joining the YMCA at all costs!
Carl Martinez (6/30/25, 10:29 PM):
This gym has all you could ever need, from workout machines to an outdoor pool.
Lawrence Young (6/29/25, 3:03 AM):
This YMCA offers a plethora of programs and activities catering to individuals of various age groups. The YOGA sessions were absolutely fantastic, led by top-notch instructors and offered at convenient times. We truly relished our experience!
David Moore (6/28/25, 12:24 PM):
I've been a member for quite a few years now, and though it may cost a pretty penny, the proximity, lack of crowds upon my arrival, and the amiable atmosphere make it worthwhile. I would greatly appreciate it if they were to incorporate EV charging stations in the parking lot, as that would truly elevate my experience to a perfect 5 out of 5.
George Ramos (6/28/25, 2:36 AM):
As per usual, The Trunk and Treat was absolutely fabulous this year, 2024. I always participate in the trunk portion of the event. I must say, why aren't the trunks being judged? Some of us really put a lot of effort into our setups. The children are always thrilled and having a blast. A big thank you for the candy. We always run out, as is tradition. Fantastic job. Fantastic organization. Fantastic staff.
Ruth Reyes (6/28/25, 1:35 AM):
I absolutely adore how everyone in the family can get moving here, it’s a refreshing change from other spots where only the grown-ups can break a sweat.
Tyler Nguyen (6/26/25, 6:54 PM):
This gym is truly outstanding and offers a fantastic atmosphere. It provides a friendly, family-oriented environment with a wide variety of machines available to use without the hassle of waiting. The staff at the front desk are always welcoming and helpful. The only reason I wouldn't give the Y a five-star rating is due to the cost. I understand that it's considered the top Y facility in the region. However, I found the price of $40 per month for my "college discount" membership to be rather steep. While the membership included access to the entire gym, pool, and classes, I was solely interested in using the gym facilities. Having to pay for amenities I didn't plan on utilizing was a drawback for me. It would have been ideal if there was an option to opt for a gym-only membership, as other gyms in the area offer.
Ann Graham (6/26/25, 7:21 AM):
There are so many choices at the gym. Even when it's busy, you can always snag a cardio machine. I absolutely loved my sessions with Gina R. for personal training.
Justin Walker (6/26/25, 5:52 AM):
A bit on the busy side, but top-notch facilities and programs available!
Gerald Evans (6/20/25, 9:26 PM):
The staff is top-notch and there are a plethora of activities available for everyone!
