Robert Thomas (7/20/25, 5:17 PM):
I wouldn't recommend sending your child to this daycare center! I recently had a negative experience with an employee there. I've been contemplating enrolling my child there because of its proximity to my home, but I've had reservations. As I was walking my dog down Barksdale Rd. yesterday, I decided to take a peek at the daycare to get a sense of the environment. To my surprise, an older lady with dark hair emerged from the building carrying a baby and began yelling at me, insisting that I leave the premises if my child wasn't attending the center. Her approach was quite rude, considering she could have simply asked me to go in a more polite manner. Despite attempting to walk away, she abruptly swung the door open and inquired if she could assist me, all the while holding the baby. I chose to ignore her, which seemed to agitate her as she loudly exclaimed "hello" in frustration. It's disheartening to think that individuals like her are responsible for supervising children. Her miserable demeanor towards me raises concerns about how she interacts with the kids under her care. This woman must have been having a rough day. Having previously worked in daycare settings, I'm familiar with their operations. During potential parent visits, staff are often instructed to act busy and ensure the place looks tidy. It's important to be discerning when selecting a daycare for your child. Although the photos I've included may not be very clear given the distance from which they were taken, they provide a glimpse of the lady in question since I don't have her name.

I am absolutely chuffed with the care my little girl has gotten at this daycare center! She’s constantly buzzing with excitement to head off to school and soak up all the knowledge. I feel at ease leaving her there and appreciate the regular updates on her development.
Denise Baker (7/17/25, 12:47 PM):
What a fantastic center! My little one spent some time in Moons, and the progress he has made in preparation for kindergarten is truly remarkable. Ms. Liz and Miss Hailey are exceptional teachers. The entire team of educators and staff members provide an outstanding experience. From Ms. Maggie and Ms. Maddie to Ms. Janet and Ms. Jane, every single one of them is amazing. I could keep listing names, but let me just say that I highly, highly recommend this center.
Joe Morris (7/16/25, 7:43 AM):
Me two daughters attend Newark Day Nursery and we couldn’t be happier. The centre is spotless, and the staff are so kind and attentive. And can you believe it, they even provide meals! I am truly thankful that we have stumbled upon a place that truly feels like an extension of our home.
Judith Williams (7/14/25, 12:28 PM):
Such a brilliant spot for the little ones! They cherish our child as if he were their own!
Jonathan Jenkins (7/10/25, 4:59 AM):
I shall share my comprehensive evaluation across various aspects to summarize my rating.

The Staff: At Newark Day, there seems to be separation among the staff, with certain groups forming cliques within their respective rooms. Gossip appears to be prevalent, with teachers openly discussing others, even in front of new employees. Moreover, higher-ranking staff displayed unprofessional behavior by speaking ill of colleagues to non-teaching staff. Favoritism also seemed rampant, as some members could repeatedly call out without repercussions, while others faced consequences.

Workplace Culture: During my full-time tenure, it was not uncommon for 3-4 teachers to call out on many days. Absenteeism seemed normalized at this establishment. The uncertainty of whether classes would need to be combined or separated daily left both teachers and parents unsettled. This often led to teachers feeling overwhelmed and unhappy throughout the day.

Purpose: Despite the challenges, interacting with the children provided a sense of purpose and fulfillment. The allocated classroom budgets allowed for the creation of engaging and child-friendly spaces.

Positives: NDNCC offered provided lunches and boasted beautiful rooms and facilities. Particularly noteworthy were the well-equipped classrooms for older children, complete with sinks and ample toys. The management held high standards for training and licensing, ensuring quality care and service.

Negatives: The prevalent issues include the stressful environment, over ratio’d classes, lack of support, and unsatisfactory staff conditions characterized by gossip and favoritism. There were concerns regarding policies, such as the "Nut Free Policy" enforcement, which reportedly endangered a colleague with severe allergies.

I do not recommend seeking employment at NDNCC due to the subpar work environment. If you do choose to work there, exercise caution and professionalism, as gossip and favoritism are prevalent. Parents may not be aware of the inner workings at NDNCC.

For parents considering NDNCC for their children, rest assured that the teachers provide nurturing care, treating each child as if they were their own, particularly in the younger classrooms.

NDNCC can experience occasional disruptions due to health concerns like hand, foot, and mouth disease or lice outbreaks, with resolution typically overseen by the supervisor.
Victoria Miller (7/5/25, 8:59 AM):
We've been with NDNCC since the beginning of 2017! The little ones have started with daycare, moved on to preschool, and now they're part of the before/after care program (SAC). The center excels in fostering independence, social-emotional development, pre-academic skills, and more. We couldn't be happier with our experience here! We always encourage other families to consider this spot for a clean, safe, and nurturing child care environment.
Nicholas Russell (7/3/25, 1:36 PM):
I went to this day care center when I was just 4-5 years old, and oh my, the childhood memories that flood my mind! It was the only time we could bring our own blankets for nap time, the only time I indulged in thrilling Marble Races, the only time I unleashed my creativity through painting, and even the time I accidentally pulled off a 360-degree swing on the swing set. Those were the days, I tell you! This place will forever hold a special spot in my heart.
Sarah Hayes (7/1/25, 5:37 AM):

Visited this day care center and was impressed by their attention to safety protocols, especially with the well-maintained fire extinguishers. The educators displayed a warm and welcoming demeanor, as did the rest of the team. It's wonderful that the children have designated nap times.
